With the PSTN switch-off date approaching (end of December 2025) any analogue phone service will need to be moved across to use a VoIP / SIP service.
If you are looking to move from an analogue line to a VoIP line we can help – contact us for more information about our HVoice service or if you have an existing VoIP or SIP based service (either for handset or Phone System PABX) the SimRush hardware will support the system.
As the SimRush system uses the local carrier on 4G LTE or 5G NR the carriers use something called CG-NAT (Carrier Grade NAT) which sometimes doesn’t allow the VoIP / SIP protocol’s to pass through the mobile network properly – it can be 50/50 whether this issue affects your VoIP straight away or later down the line after you’ve had the connection a while.
The only way that we have found which resolves this issue is to purchase the SimRush Static IP add-on service.
Once the Static IP service has been purchased and added to your SimRush, you’ll just need to configure the settings in SPanel (SimRush Cloud Management Platform) to set the VoIP devices to use the Static IP path
To do this:
- Log onto SPanel
- Find the Client/Site hardware
- Go to the “Network” dropdown and select the “DHCP Leases”
- One the list has populated you can then see the DHCP lease and make it Static by clicking on the Padlock Key
- Then, go to the “DHCP Static Reservations” list
- You’ll see the entry you just made static, click on the “<–>” icon which then enables the forwarding
You may need to unplug then plug in the Ethernet cable between your VoIP device and the SimRush Controller for the setting change to fully enable.
Please be aware that this method requires the SimRush Static IP service to be purchased and applied.
